★★☆4bet, re-re-raise,re-reraise,4-bet
Basic Definition
A 4bet (re-re-raise) in poker refers to making an additional raise in response to a 3bet (re-raise) during a series of raise actions.
Specific Situation
- In the pre-flop, the UTG (Under the Gun) opened with a raise to 2BB, the BTN then 3-bet to 7BB, and the BB made a cold 4-bet to 20BB.
- In the pre-flop, the HJ opened with 2.5BB, the CO 3-bet to 8BB, and then the HJ 4-bet to 22BB.
Important Information
- A 4-bet is usually made with a very strong hand (e.g.,

or
), but it can also be used as a bluff (4-bet bluff). - When making a 4-bet, the SPR becomes smaller, and it's necessary to consider stack sizes and your opponent's range more carefully. The risk is particularly higher in deep stack situations.
Examples of Term Usage
"I decided to try a bold 4-bet bluff because my opponent's 3-bet range seemed wide."
