A blocker is a card that reduces the likelihood of an opponent having a specific hand. Cards in your hand or on the board can influence the composition of your opponent's hand.

Specific Situation

  • With your hand being AhKd and the board showing QhJhTh, having Ah means your opponent cannot have the nut flush.
  • With a board of 5s6c7d8s9h and holding a Js in your hand, the likelihood that your opponent has the nut combination of JT decreases.

Important Information

  • In plays that utilize blockers, it can become easier to bluff by reducing the possible hands the opponent might have. For example, if you have a strong hand blocker, the success rate of your bluff increases.
  • Overestimating the presence of blockers can lead to incorrect plays. It's important to consider the opponent's hand range comprehensively and make appropriate decisions.
