Bounty
★☆☆
Basic Definition
A bounty refers to the additional prize money awarded in a poker bounty tournament when you bust an opponent (cause them to lose all their chips). Typically, each player has a set bounty, encouraging aggressive play to claim it.
Specific Situation
- When you call and win against a short-stacked opponent who goes all-in during a bounty tournament, you earn that opponent's bounty.
- In the final stages of the tournament, when multiple players go all-in and you manage to bust your opponents, you have the chance to collect multiple bounties at once.
Important Information
- When aiming for a bounty, you need to take risks to earn the reward, but if you aim too aggressively, you might end up losing instead.
- In bounty tournaments, unlike regular tournament strategies, a somewhat aggressive play may be required to earn bounties. A strategy that takes this into account is important.
Examples of Term Usage
"The opponent's bounty was high, so I decided to take the risk and call the all-in."
