Broadway

Basic Definition

In poker, "Broadway" refers to cards ranked T or higher. Specifically, it includes the five ranks: T, J, Q, K, and A. It can also refer to a straight made up of these cards.

Specific Situation

  • When your hand is AhKd, both cards can be said to be Broadway cards.
  • If your hand is KsQc and the board shows AhTsJc, you have completed a Broadway straight.

Important Information

  • Hands with Broadway cards often have high play value because they can easily lead to strong post-flop hands, such as straights or flushes.
  • However, just because it's a Broadway card, you shouldn't be overly confident.

"Since three Broadway cards fell on the flop, it's highly likely that the opponent has completed some kind of hand."
