Basic Definition

A check refers to the action of passing your turn without betting when it's your turn to act. This action is only possible if no betting action has occurred on the current street.

Specific Situation

• In a situation where the flop shows and you are in the small blind, you can check if no one has bet yet.
• After the appears on the turn and the opponent in the BB checks, you, in the CO position, can also choose to check and see the next river.

Important Information

• Checking carries the risk of allowing your opponent to see the next card for free. You need to be especially careful if your opponent has a draw.
