Deep stack

☆☆

Basic Definition

A deep stack refers to a situation where you have a very large amount of chips on the table, or your stack is significantly larger compared to other players.

Specific Situation

  • If your stack is 500BB and the average stack of other players is 100BB, you could be considered deep-stacked.
  • In the early stages of the tournament, if the starting stack is very large, you will be playing with a deep stack.

Important Information

  • In deep stack play, post-flop play becomes crucial. With larger stacks, more complex bet sizes and bluffs become possible.
  • Playing carelessly just because you have a lot of chips can actually lead to greater losses. Calm judgment and careful strategy are required.

Examples of Term Usage
