Four of a kind

Basic Definition

A four of a kind is a poker hand that consists of four cards of the same rank. It is a very strong hand, ranking above a full house and just below a straight flush. It is also known as "quads."

Specific Situation

• If your hand is and the board shows , you have completed a four of a kind with Kings.
• When the board shows , everyone has four of a kind with nines, but the outcome may be decided by the kicker (the strongest card in one's hand).
