Full House

Basic Definition

A full house is one of the hands in poker, consisting of a three of a kind (three cards of the same rank) combined with a pair (two cards of the same rank). It is a strong hand in poker, ranking higher than a straight or a flush, but it is beaten by four of a kind.

Specific Situation

  • If your hand is KK and the board is K7722, you have a full house, combining three of a kind with Kings and a pair of Sevens.
  • If your hand is 88 and the board is 8JJ32, you have a full house, combining three of a kind with eights and a pair of jacks.

Important Information

  • A full house is a very strong hand, but it can be beaten by a stronger full house or four of a kind. You need to calmly assess your opponent's hand.
  • If there is a pair on the board, a full house is possible. Caution is needed if you have a straight or a flush.
