No limit

Basic Definition

No-limit is a type of poker format where players can bet all of their chips. Since there is no cap on bets, it offers players a wide range of options. Conversely, a format where the bet amount is fixed is called fixed limit.

Specific Situation

  • Suppose you have a pocket pair of AA, and the flop comes A72. In a no-limit game, you can aim for an all-in by triple-barreling.
  • In no-limit rules, if multiple players have strong hands, it's possible for an all-in to occur pre-flop.

Important Information

  • In no-limit formats, a single mistake can lead to significant losses, so caution is necessary.
  • It is important to focus on both your own and your opponent's stack and play with an all-in strategy in mind.

Examples of Term Usage

"In a no-limit format, you want to aim for an all-in with a strong hand."
