In poker, "the nuts" refers to the strongest possible hand at that point in the game. Having the nuts essentially guarantees a win or puts you in a very advantageous position.

• When the flop is and your hole cards are , you have a royal flush, which is the nuts on this board.
• With the board showing on the river and your hand being , you have a full house with Kings over Queens. Since it's impossible for your opponent to have a better hand, this is also considered the nuts.
