Basic Definition

A ring game, also known as a "cash game," refers to a game played with the aim of increasing your chips. Typically, fixed blinds and antes are set, and players can join or leave the game at any time they choose. It stands in contrast to a "tournament," a game format in which the blinds increase over time and players are eliminated until the remaining players determine the winner.

Specific Situation

- In a ring game with $1/$2 blinds, a player buys $200 worth of chips in cash to join the game. In this case, the stack is 100BB.

- If a player wins during the game and their stack increases to $400, in a ring game there is no need to purchase additional chips, and they can continue playing as is.

Important Information

- In ring games, the blind amounts are fixed, which means the pace and strategies of the game tend to remain stable. Unlike tournaments, the blind levels do not increase.

- Because players can join and leave at their preferred timing, they can freely adjust their playtime. However, it is important to always practice disciplined bankroll management.
