A squeeze refers to the action of making a large re-raise in a situation where one or more players have called the initial raise. This strategy is often used with the aim of forcing opponents to fold and capturing chips pre-flop.

Specific Situation

  • The UTG raises to 3BB, and after the button calls, the BB makes a squeeze play of 15BB. In this case, the BB is squeezing to induce a fold from the opponents.
  • When you have a hand like KhQs, execute a squeeze play. If your opponent has called with a weak hand, squeezing increases your chances of putting pressure on them and winning the pot.

Important Information

  • A squeeze play is effective when there's a high likelihood that your opponent's hand range is weak. This is especially true because players who have called often don't have strong hands, making it easier to induce a fold.
  • When executing a squeeze play, it's important to consider your position, stack size, and the playing style of your opponents. If done recklessly, it can carry significant risks.
