WTSD

☆☆Went to Showdown

Basic Definition

WTSD (Went to Showdown) is a statistical indicator in poker that shows the percentage of times a player reaches a showdown. This figure is used to measure how often a player plays a hand to the end and reveals their cards.

Specific Situation

  • If you actively bet from the flop to the river and then compare your hand with your opponent's at the showdown, it counts towards WTSD.
  • If one player folds and the hand ends before a showdown, it is not counted towards WTSD.
  • If your opponent goes all-in on the turn and you call, proceeding to the river where the cards are revealed, it is also included in WTSD.

Important Information

  • If your WTSD is too high, it may indicate that you go to showdown too often and rarely bluff or fold. This could make you an easy player to read for your opponents, so you need to be cautious.
  • If the WTSD is too low, it may indicate that you go to showdown infrequently and might be folding too often or bluffing too much. This suggests that you could be missing opportunities to win pots.

Examples of Term Usage

"This player has a high WTSD, so they might be a typical calling station."
